Following the successful completion of our ad-hoc vessel operation from Sohar to Jeddah, and the ongoing efforts to normalize operations after the recent Force Majeure event in the Arabian Gulf, Folk Maritime hereby provides essential instructions regarding empty container returns and the applicable Detention & Demurrage (D&D) charges.

We kindly request your immediate attention to the following:

  1. EMPTY EQUIPMENT RETURN – OPTIONS & INSTRUCTIONSAll empty containers that were affected by the Force Majeure disruption must be returned to one of the following designated drop-off points:

Please note that containers loaded from Sohar to Dammam or to any other location by truck can be discharged only at Dammam or Jeddah after alignment with the local agent.

Important Instructions:• All empty containers must be returned within the free time period specified below to avoid any extra charges.• Return locations are subject to prior confirmation required from Agency team• Please ensure containers are cleaned and damage-free and as received at time of loading as per standard return conditions.2. DETENTION & DEMURRAGE (D&D) TARIFFSThe following Detention & Demurrage tariffs will apply depending on the final destinations and status of your cargo.A. B. For Cargo Loaded from Sohar to Jeddah (Ad-Hoc Sailing)For shipments that were moved on our ad-hoc vessel from Sohar to Jeddah, the standard Jeddah D &D tariff applies from the date of discharge in Jeddah until empty container returns to Jeddah.

KEY DATES & CALCULATION METHOD• Start Date for D&D Calculation:o Sohar-collected cargo: Date of discharge at Soharo Jeddah-bound cargo (ad-hoc): Date of discharge at Jeddah• End Date: The date the empty container is gated-in empty at the designated return location.• Force Majeure Consideration: The free time and tariff structure above have been set taking into account the exceptionalcircumstances. No additional force majeure extension will be granted beyond the free days specified unless special approval obtained by trade team in HQ.4. COMPLIANCE & PENALTIES• Containers not returned within the free time period will be subject to the per-day charges as outlined.• Continued failure to return equipment may result in:o Suspension of future bookingso Full container replacement cost recovery for lost unitso Legal action for recovery of outstanding equipmentWe sincerely appreciate your cooperation in returning equipment promptly to avoid unnecessary charges and to help Folk Maritime normalize its container fleet availability.
