Commercial Advisory: Suspension of existing rate agreements & revision of freight rates for all services

Further to our recent announcements regarding the Force Majeure situation affecting the Arabian Gulf region, Folk Maritime hereby notifies you of essential commercial adjustments to our rates and services:

  1. Revocation of Existing Rate AgreementsDue to unprecedented and unforeseeable circumstances currently impacting maritime operations in the region—including heightened security risks, increased operational costs, and significant disruptions to vessel schedules—we hereby suspend, with immediate effect, all previously agreed rates, tariffs, and special arrangements.

  2. New Rate StructureScope: For all shipments to or from India, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan, and the UAE, an Emergency Risk Surcharge will be applied to all Shippers' Own Containers (SOC) and Carrier’s Own Containers (COC) at:

USD 2,000 per 20’USD 3,000 per 40’

Cargo Type: All types.

Effective Date: This surcharge applies immediately to the following:

Containers currently on water.Booked containers awaiting loading.New bookings to/from all ports in the Middle East and Red Sea regions.

  1. Suspension of Credit Agreements / Prepayment RequiredEffective immediately, all credit facilities are suspended. All shipments must be strictly PREPAID prior to loading. No cargo will be loaded, no bookings confirmed, and no documentation released until payment confirmation has been received.

  2. Important Customer InformationPlease cease using any previously issued rate confirmations for new bookings.
