FOLK Maritime Expands Fleet with Three New Vessels to Boost Regional Connectivity

Folk Maritime Services Company, a PIF company and a leading regional provider of liner and feeder services, today announced the addition of three vessels to its fleet, with deployment in our services underway over the next month. The three container vessels are: M/V Folk Dammam (1,868 TEIJs), M/V Folk Yanbu (702 TEIJs), and M/V Folk Jubail (1,118 TEUs). Registered under the Saudi flag at Jeddah Islamic Port.

The vessels will enhance Folk Maritime's operational capacity across the Red Sea, Arabian Gulf, Indian subcontinent, and key regional trade routes, supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.

Poul Hestbaek, CEO of Folk Maritime, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition: "The addition of Folk Dammam, Folk Yanbu, and Folk Jubail to our fleet strengthens our ability to deliver efficient and reliable shipping solutions. This expansion not only supports Folk Maritime's ambitions to expand fleet capacity, but also reinforces our commitment to reducing reliance on chartered vessels and investing in Saudi-flagged assets. These efforts directly align with Vision 2030's objectives to build a competitive, self-sufficient logistics sector."

This latest acquisition builds upon Folk Maritime's strategic expansion program, which began with our first Saudi-flagged vessel M/V Folk Jeddah (1,868 TEUs) in September 2024 and continued with M/V Folk Jazan (2,015 TEUs) in April 2025.

With the coming addition of Folk Dammam, Folk Yanbu, and Folk Jubail, our operational fleet now totals 8 vessels (5 owned and 3 chartered). Our expanding fleet directly supports Vision 2030's logistics transformation goals, positioning Saudi Arabia as the Red Sea's premier maritime hub.
