Folk Maritime Launches "Red Sea Express" Container Shipping Service at Yanbu Port in Partnership with SABIC and Mawani

Folk Maritime, in partnership and cooperation with SABIC and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), has announced the launch of its new regular container shipping service, the "Red Sea Express" (RSX) at King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu. This strategic step aims to strengthen regional maritime connectivity and enhance Saudi Arabia’s logistics capabilities.

Operating with a carrying capacity of up to 1,100 TEUs, the new service establishes a direct shipping route connecting Jeddah Islamic Port, King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, Ain Sokhna Port in Egypt, and Aqaba Port in Jordan, directly contributing to improving trade flows across the Red Sea region.

This initiative underscores Folk Maritime's pivotal role in supporting regional and international trade, integrating efforts with national industry leaders and government entities to reinforce the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub connecting continents, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The direct route represents a major advancement in logistics services, reflecting the successful collaboration with SABIC and Mawani to boost export efficiency and facilitate smoother trade operations. This service will ensure accelerated cargo handling procedures, reduced vessel waiting times, and more agile and reliable supply chains for exporters and importers across the region.

In addition to operational advantages, Folk Maritime aims through the " RSX" to generate sustainable economic benefits that support the growth of non-oil exports and attract investments to the maritime transport sector. It will also reduce transportation costs and shorten shipping times, giving Saudi products a greater competitive edge in regional and global markets.
